Mya
We adopted Mya at the
beginning of January from Golden Treasures. Her family had moved and
for some reason, they did not want to bring her along. We were her
foster home and then quickly realized she was part of the family and
was meant to be with us. She definitely has spunk and enjoys playing
at the doggy park with all the other dogs. Mya always has a toy in
her mouth and is ready to play. She's been to the groomers for a
bath and they claim she's one of the most well behaved clients the
have. We are attending obedience training, and although we're only
on our third week, she's showing great potential.
We are thrilled to have her and I believe she feels the same way.

Buddy (Niko)
Dear Golden Treasures,
We adopted Buddy (originally Nikko) from your organization in July
2008. As he didn't come or even seemed to know his name was Nikko,
we named him Buddy after the movie, Air Bud, which was one of my
son's favorites. When we first got him, Buddy was very thin and
scared of strange noises, especially the vacuum cleaner. It seemed
that he hadn't spent much time indoors but he adapted very quickly
to his new life of luxury. A few weeks prior to adopting
Buddy, we had to put our Golden of nearly 13 years,
Sophie, to sleep. Buddy had big shoes to fill as Sophie was the best
dog ever (at least we thought so) and the first few weeks were a
challenge. At first, he dug huge craters in the yard, pulled
branches from the trees to play with, and decided any sock left
laying around was better off with a few holes chewed in it. “Buddy,
No!” was uttered frequently.
Then, we decided that with all this energy, maybe Buddy needed to
find a better outlet. At first we started with walks, which soon
turned into long walks. Since his new mom was already a runner, she
started taking him along with her. We started slow but soon he was a
seasoned runner himself, begging to go at every opportunity. Once he
received regular exercise, the true Buddy showed himself. He was
very loving and devoted, a great companion to our son, and has never
met another dog he doesn't like.
Buddy is one of the family now and has made his way into our hearts.
We'll never know what kind of life he had before he met us but the
one he has now is pretty darn good!
Thank you for bringing Buddy into our lives.

Buddy

On January 13, 2009, my
daughter, Elizabeth & I meet up with Buddy Boo's foster mom so we
can bring him home to his forever home. I just would like to let you
know he is such a wonderful addition to our family. He is the most
sweetest, lovable dog, easy to get along with dog. His only down
fall is he likes to counter surf and raid the trash can if not moved
while we are at work & school.
My son Joseph showed Buddy at the Medina County Fair in August of
2009 and came in 3rd place for obedience. Not bad for my son who has
never shown dogs before. To say the least, Buddy was the "Star of
the Show" because of his markings, and all loved his sweet attitude.
Buddy's favorite thing to do is to go camping with us. He enjoys the
long hikes around the Belmont Lake and taking a cool dip in the
water along wih his Golden Rescue Friend Sunny Boy, who we adopted
from GTR 5 years ago.
Thank you again Golden Treasures for letting us adopted both Buddy
Boo and Sunny Boy. They both know that they are in their "Forever
Home".

PS. The little brown
dog, Jasmine, is Buddy's favorite play mate.
Best wishes!

Sadie
Dear Golden Treasures,
Hello. My name is Matthew and I'm Sadie's "boy". I'm 18 and she is
an awesome dog. Sadie is doing great. She loves to play. She must
have been a show dog. I kinda taught her how to weave in between
poles and jump over things. She loves to play with her ball and go
outside with the other dogs in the neighborhood. Sadie also lets my
mom and I lay all over her and play rough. She's a lot of fun. This
is the only purebred we have ever had and love it. As I'm typing
this she is at my feet. We love her a lot.

She is also a "donut dog". Every morning before school we share a
donut. Its great. We also must watch the trash. If we leave it in
her reach it will be everywhere if we are not home. That's normal
for a dog. It's not a problem. We have had Sadie about a year and 4
months and it's been great. The family loves her and so do we. THANK
YOU GOLDEN TREASURES FOR A GREAT DOG.
MATT
